The first thing to keep in mind is that our precious bonsai has just been exposed to a big change. It has gone from its comfort zone from our facilities, to be inside of a box and travelling to its new home. Despite being prepared to withstand several days in these conditions, sometimes the tree can get a little stressed due to the change and we can see it reflected in its appearance.
It is understandable that the bonsai may lose some leaves or even looks depressed, but this has an easy solution.
The first thing we must do is find a suitable location for it. If it is an indoor bonsai, we will place it in front of a window (about 50 cm would be ideal) through which it can receive direct sunlight and we will make sure that it does not have a heat source nearby or that it is in the path of air currents. On the other hand, if we have an outdoor bonsai, we will place it outside protected from wind and exposed to the sun (in the hottest hours in summer, it would appreciate a semi-shade area).
What else can we do to ensure that our bonsai has an optimal state again? Control the irrigation! Yes, it’s that easy!
If we provide it with the right amount of water that it needs, depending on the season, taking care of your bonsai will be a piece of cake!
